Figure Armatures only
Built of pliable aluminum wire, our fully adjustable 12" figure armature is strong and non-staining.
Free-form modeling and fabric sculpture is a breeze with this armature, serving as the internal support of your piece. Can be bent and shaped by the sculptor into the preferred position before securing it to a backiron on a board or base.
Available in 12 and 18" armatures as well as a larger 24" figure armature. Compatible with our adjustable steel backiron.
If using moist (ceramic/pottery) clay, please note, the armature cannot be put in a kiln during firing. The clay will shrink but the armature will not, resulting in cracking and/or breakage. We suggest using a wet and twisted newspaper armature as the paper will burn off during firing; or a wax armature as the wax will melt during firing.
