In this tutorial we show the casting process for a basic silicone prosthetic using Gel-00 Platinum Silicone. Gel-OO cures to a soft, stretchy silicone rubber that is ideal for basic facial and body prosthetics. Gel-OO may be softened further by adding Smith's Prosthetic Deadener or the new Deadener LV (Low Viscosity).
Gel-00 has a working time of ~5 minutes and a demold time of 30 minutes at 70F or "room" temperature. We pigmented the Gel-OO silicone using a combination of silicone pigment and flocking.
